CapLinked Launches File Protect to Safe Guard Previously Shared Documents

By CIOReview | Tuesday, January 20, 2015

LOS ANGELES, CA: CapLinked, a deal management platform provider has come up with a new solution, ‘File Protect’, capable of revoking access to previously shared documents and thereby protecting sensitive transactions.

Sometimes, if a deal fails, getting back the shared documents might be difficult. File Protect blocks the outside users from copying, opening or printing the document, after the deadline and it focus on enterprises involved in sensitive transactions like dealing with finance, asset backed security, acquisitions and merging.

File protect, developed by former PayPal exec Eric M. Jackson doesn’t need a plug-in similar to the ones used by the first generation of digital rights management (DRM) products and it allows the users to set a date on which the access to the document will be revoked. It privileges its users to revoke access to documents like Microsoft Office and Adobe PDF. And, this revoke works even if the document is downloaded by the third party. Cap Linked’s client list includes Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors, Sunbelt Business Brokers, Frontier Airlines, Ernst & Young, and Competitive Power Ventures.
